Pride Month & Geneva Pride

Geneva Pride is taking place in June as usual, with events starting on May 31 with an opening night, culminating with the parade on Saturday 7. But Pride Month doesn’t end there! Set in June after the Stonewall riots of 1969, it expanded outside of the USA more recently. On this occasion, a selection of titles related to the LGBT+ movement and gender studies is on display at the entrance of the library to celebrate the event.

Children and their rights

Geneva sustainability week 2025, March 17-21

As Spring is approaching, so comes the yearly Sustainability Week, along with a small display of selected titles in the entrance of the Library. The environment and sustainable development belong to the main topics covered by the Library over the past decades. Our dedicated collection is characterised by a large scope of subjects and perspectives of study, covering topics like climate change, natural resources and conflict, among others.

22nd UNESCO Week of Sound

Sound is all around us. It carries meaning through speech, and emotion through tone and music. The invention of radio, more than a century ago, changed the world, and the Internet gave this medium a new form through podcasts. Social science researchers, historians and anthropologists also use sound and recordings as research data or as the subject of their research, whether for oral histories or qualitative analysis.
